Dominican Republic's Inapa pushes Mao wastewater treatment plant to 80% completion

Wellington Arnaud, the executive director of the Instituto Nacional de Aguas Potables y Alcantarillados (Inapa), inspected the sanitary sewer works in Mao, Valverde province, and reported that the wastewater treatment plant is approximately 80 % complete. He said the project, which includes a modern treatment facility, collection lines, a pumping station, household connections and inspection chambers, is slated for delivery by the end of the year.

The work will serve the urban core of Mao, covering neighborhoods such as Villa Olímpica, San Antonio, María Auxiliadora, Motocross, Los Cayucos, Cerro Marino and several others. Arnaud highlighted the government’s commitment under President Luis Abinader and noted that the country has been recognized by the Inter‑American Development Bank as a regional leader in sanitation. He performed the inspection together with mayor Yohendi Jiménez.
