Wellington Phoenix sign Scottish midfielder Max Anderson

Wellington Phoenix have signed Scottish midfielder Max Anderson on a two-year contract ahead of the 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League season. The 25-year-old becomes the club’s third visa player, with his deal extending until the end of the 2027/28 season.

Anderson, a former Scotland U-21 international, joins from English side Crawley Town. His professional background includes experience in the top two tiers of Scottish football and England’s League One and League Two. He previously developed through the Dundee FC youth system.

Head coach Chris Greenacre noted that Anderson brings valuable experience and ambition to the squad. Greenacre highlighted Anderson’s potential to provide leadership within the dressing room, helping to support senior players while mentoring younger members of the team.
