Wellington Phoenix sign striker Riley Bidois on loan
Wellington Phoenix have secured the return of striker Riley Bidois on a season-long loan from American club Monterey Bay FC. The 24-year-old New Zealand U-23 international is a former product of the Phoenix academy.
Bidois spent the last two and a half years playing in the United States' USL Championship, appearing for Loudoun United in Virginia and most recently Monterey Bay in California. During his early season in the US, he recorded five goals in eight games.
Phoenix head coach Chris Greenacre expressed enthusiasm for the signing, noting Bidois’s improvement and his ability to add value through hold-up play, speed, and goal-scoring instincts. Bidois stated that returning to New Zealand was the primary motivation for the move.
