Wellness and sleep tourism trends reshape the hospitality industry
The hospitality industry is seeing a significant shift toward wellness and recovery-focused travel. Minor Hotels has launched Life Longevity, a new wellness brand designed to provide a continuous, personalized ecosystem across resort, urban, and residential settings. The brand integrates clinical science, complementary medicine, and hospitality, allowing guests' diagnostics and personal records to follow them between different properties.
Currently, the brand operates at Layan Life by Anantara at Anantara Layan Phuket Resort and Bangkok Life at the St Regis Bangkok, with further global sites in development. This move aligns with the broader rise of ‘sleep tourism,’ a multibillion-dollar market where travelers prioritize rest and recovery over traditional sightseeing.
Market projections indicate the global sleep tourism market could reach approximately $142 billion by 2033. To cater to this demand, hotels are implementing advanced amenities such as circadian lighting, soundproof architecture, smart mattresses, and specialized services like overnight sleep diagnostics and personalized sleep coaching.
