Wellovar aquatic complex nears opening in Bjelovar
The new Wellovar aquatic complex in Bjelovar is preparing to open its pools to the public following its official inauguration on September 29. The facility features ten indoor and outdoor pools, including an Olympic-sized pool. The Bjelovar Swimming Club has expressed readiness to begin training sessions, noting that members and new students will soon be notified of start dates.
Ticket pricing for the complex has been announced. A three-hour session on weekdays is priced at 7 euros, while full-day access costs 16 euros on weekdays and 21 euros on weekends and holidays. Discounted rates of 5 euros for three-hour sessions are available for retirees, students, high school students, and persons with disabilities. Family passes for two adults and two children are set at 44 euros on weekdays and 56 euros on weekends.
In related local developments, Mayor Dario Hrebak announced that Bjelovar is expected to transition to a single-shift school model starting January 1. This change aims to provide students with more free time in the afternoons. To support this, the city is exploring ways to integrate the Wellovar pools into the school curriculum, potentially allowing students to participate in physical education or swimming lessons at the facility at least once every two weeks.
