Welsh Courts Hear Assault Cases in Rhyl and Pontyclun

Two residents of Rhyl, Rachel Marie Grant (36) and Ben Ward (36), have been charged with attempted murder in connection with a violent assault on Bath Street on 23 July. The incident prompted an emergency response that included police, paramedics and an air ambulance, and earlier charges were also filed against Gareth Marc Griffith and a teenage male.

In a separate case near the Haveli Hotel in Pontyclun, a 16‑year‑old boy from Rumney was charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent after a man was left in hospital with serious injuries following an assault on Coedcae Lane at about 1 am. South Wales Police have appealed for witnesses and CCTV footage, and the area was cordoned off during the investigation.
