Welsh emergency services warn of delays during bank holiday

Emergency services in Wales have issued warnings regarding potential delays during the bank holiday weekend due to high demand.

Dyfed-Powys Police stated that their control room is experiencing increased volume, which may result in longer response times than usual. The force has urged the public to reserve 999 calls for emergencies only and advised against using social media to report crimes or incidents, noting that such messages may not be seen in time.

The Welsh Ambulance Service is also requesting responsible use of the 999 system to ensure availability for life-threatening situations. Officials recommend using NHS 111 Wales or local pharmacies for non-urgent health concerns. Additionally, the Trust advised citizens to stock up on prescription medications before GP surgeries close and to exercise caution on the roads during the busy holiday period.
