Gardening experts in Wales recommend a simple homemade weed killer for patios, driveways and lawns. The solution mixes white vinegar, a small amount of washing‑up liquid and water, applied on a dry, sunny day.

Luke Newnes, garden expert at Hillarys, advises first clearing weeds manually and removing as much root as possible. Andy McLaughlin, sales and operations director at RF Paving, supports the same method, noting that the acetic acid in vinegar (5‑20%) combined with detergent helps the spray adhere to weed roots. The mixture should be sprayed directly onto weeds, avoiding nearby plants, and wilting is usually visible within hours.
