Welsh Government awards £650,000 for Gwynedd cultural sites

Two cultural sites in Gwynedd, Wales, are set to receive more than £650,000 in funding from the Welsh Government for significant improvements. The Lloyd George Museum in Llanystumdwy will receive over £150,000 to safeguard and preserve Highgate, the childhood home of the former Prime Minister, with the goal of reopening the site as part of the attraction in spring 2027.

Caernarfon Library has been awarded £500,000 for a major modernization project. The upgrades will include a new glass-fronted entrance foyer, improved accessibility, a dedicated area for children and young people, and a community space featuring computers and meeting rooms.

These projects are part of a wider £5.28 million cultural grant scheme across Wales aimed at protecting collections and modernizing buildings in museums, libraries, and archives.
