Welsh Government reports progress after first 100 days

The Welsh Government has marked its first 100 days in office by highlighting progress on several key policy priorities, including healthcare, education, and the economy. Since the Cabinet first met on May 18, ministers have focused on long-term reforms aimed at improving public services and supporting families.

Key milestones reported include increased incentives for teacher training, the expansion of funded childcare, and the extension of Free School Meals to more secondary school pupils starting in September. In the healthcare sector, an expert group has been established to plan new surgical hubs to address NHS waiting times.

Economic and infrastructure measures include securing a multi-year funding agreement for Welsh farmers and announcing a new north-south coach service to improve community connectivity. The government is also continuing discussions with the UK Government regarding funding arrangements, HS2 consequential funding, and the necessity of a new Wales Bill. To increase transparency, a new digital priorities dashboard has been launched to allow the public to track progress against government commitments.
