Wales' Brocastle Employment Park begins first industrial build after five‑year vacancy

The Welsh Government‑owned Brocastle Employment Park near Bridgend, a 116‑acre brownfield site funded with over £10 million and European Regional Development Fund support, has secured its first development. Joint‑venture partners Hillwood and Maple Grove Developments have agreed to speculatively build a 57,486 sq ft industrial unit on a 4.85‑acre plot, marking the first advanced‑build project since the park’s completion in 2021.

Construction is slated to start early next year, with the building expected to be ready for occupation in 2027. The scheme is supported by grant funding from the Development Bank of Wales and is aimed at attracting manufacturing tenants, helping the Welsh Government’s mission to halve Wales’ productivity gap and create thousands of jobs in the region.
