Welsh influencer Tom Christopher’s bathtub stunt sparks controversy on Good Morning Britain

Tom Christopher, a 25‑year‑old Welsh social‑media influencer, hauled a 40 kg plastic bathtub to the summit of Pen y Fan, Wales’ highest peak (886 m), and left it there to set a record for the world’s highest bath. The stunt attracted hundreds of online comments, death threats and a potential £5,000 fly‑tipping fine. Cardiff Rugby academy players later retrieved the tub, describing the act as “mindless”.

Christopher appeared topless on ITV’s Good Morning Britain to discuss the stunt. Presenter Kate Garraway repeatedly asked why he was naked and told him to “put some clothes on”. He replied that he dislikes clothing and wanted to be “free”. Co‑host Richard Madeley queried the motivations behind the record attempt and the possible fine. The interview became one of the program’s most chaotic segments.

The incident has ignited debate over irresponsible influencer behaviour, public safety on protected land, and the limits of televised sensationalism.
