Welsh Museums Festival returns with focus on sustainability

The Welsh Museums Festival is returning for the Halloween half-term, running from Saturday, 24 October to Sunday, 1 November. This year, the Federation of Museums and Galleries of Wales is emphasizing sustainability by promoting a “greener Halloween.”

Instead of using single-use plastics, glitter, or disposable decorations, the festival will focus on natural materials, autumnal trails, and woodland-inspired crafts. The program aims to provide families with planet-friendly activities, such as spooky storytelling and workshops, often at little to no cost.

More museums and galleries are participating this year than in the previous year, with venues located across North, South, Mid, and West Wales offering various heritage and cultural activities.
