Welsh rugby regions announce squad changes for EPCR Challenge Cup

Welsh rugby regions Scarlets and Ospreys have announced squad changes ahead of their respective EPCR Challenge Cup openers.

The Scarlets will make seven changes to their lineup to face the Newcastle Red Bulls. Following a victory over Benetton, Director of Rugby Nigel Davies emphasized the need for squad rotation to maintain momentum. Key changes include Gareth Davies joining Sam Costelow in the half-back pairing, while John McKee earns his first competitive start at hooker. Additionally, Fletcher Anderson will start at No. 8.

The Ospreys travel to Georgia to face Black Lion, where Wales U20 fullback Lewis Edwards is set to make his debut. Head coach Mark Jones implemented several changes following the team's recent travel schedule. With scrum-half Kieran Hardy sidelined due to knee surgery, Reuben Morgan-Williams will step in at No. 9.
