Welthungerhilfe announces 10th anniversary ZeroHungerRun in Bonn
Welthungerhilfe has announced the 10th anniversary edition of the ZeroHungerRun, scheduled for September 27, 2026, in the Rheinaue area of Bonn, Germany. Since its inception in 2016, the event has engaged more than 40,000 participants in the effort to combat global hunger.
The anniversary event, themed ‘Wie immer, nur größer’ (As always, only bigger), aims to raise awareness and funds for hunger relief. The organization highlights that approximately 645 million people worldwide—roughly one in 13—are currently malnourished, with particularly severe conditions in southern Africa. Factors such as climate change, natural disasters, and rising costs for fuel and fertilizer are cited as significant contributors to food insecurity.
Proceeds from the charity run are intended to provide direct aid. For example, a donation of 50 euros can provide one week of care and supplies for four malnourished children in regions such as Bangladesh, Nepal, or India.
