Welthungerhilfe launches ‘Led by Women’ network
Welthungerhilfe has launched ‘Led by Women’, a new network of managers and companies designed to support female entrepreneurs in the Global South. The initiative centers on the ‘Led by Women’ women's fund, which aggregates member contributions to provide targeted funding for the establishment and expansion of women-led businesses.
The program aims to link corporate responsibility with international development cooperation. According to the World Bank, the global economy could grow by approximately 20 percent if women were able to fully realize their economic potential. By fostering economic participation, the network seeks to strengthen communities and improve food security for families.
Members of the network gain access to curated exchange formats and insights into the impact of the funded projects. The cosmetics company cosnova, which owns the brands essence and Catrice, has joined as one of the first corporate partners.
