Wemade reduces first-half operating loss through cost reduction

Wemade reported a reduction in its first-half operating loss by 27.4 billion won compared to the previous year. However, financial analysis indicates that 89.3% of this improvement was driven by cost reductions rather than revenue growth.

While consolidated revenue saw a slight increase of 1.1% to approximately 261.6 billion won, the company returned to an operating loss in the second quarter after a profitable first quarter fueled by one-time licensing revenue. The company's ability to sustain profitability will depend on whether new game releases and existing intellectual property can drive actual revenue growth in the second half of the year.
