Wembley Stadium returns to talks for Joshua vs. Fury fight

Negotiations for a heavyweight super-fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have shifted back toward the United Kingdom, with Wembley Stadium emerging as a primary venue option. Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, confirmed that discussions regarding Wembley have reopened following significant public pressure and support from British fans.

The potential move to London follows recent reports that promoters were considering hosting the bout in the United States, specifically at Madison Square Garden, to maximize television audiences. Hearn noted that TKO had previously attempted to offer Joshua money to move the fight to America, but he maintained that Joshua is committed to fighting on home soil.

Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, stated that Fury has agreed to the fight and is awaiting the finalization of the deal. Meanwhile, Joshua’s former trainer, Robert McCracken, commented that the decision to fight rests solely with the athletes, noting that while the spectacle is positive for the sport, the fighters must dictate their own terms.
