Wen Shih-cheng apologizes after assistant accuses him of throwing phone

Wen Shih-cheng, a Democratic Progressive Party candidate for Nantou County Magistrate, has issued a public apology following allegations of misconduct by a former assistant. The former employee revealed on social media that during a meeting on August 16, Wen threw a mobile phone toward her in a fit of anger regarding election-related tasks.

The assistant described the incident as a “violent act” that left her feeling threatened and fearful, leading her to leave the area immediately. While Wen reportedly attempted to apologize via phone and messages the following day, the assistant stated that the gesture did not alleviate her distress.

In a public statement, Wen admitted to mishandling his emotions due to anxiety and frustration over election matters. He acknowledged that his actions caused the assistant to feel unsafe and stated, “As a boss, I have absolute responsibility.” He pledged to better manage election-related stress and requested respect for the victim's feelings.
