Wendy Osefo faces felony fraud charges in Maryland

Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, are facing 16 felony fraud charges following their arrest in October 2025. The allegations stem from a reported April 2024 burglary at their Finksburg, Maryland, home while the couple was vacationing in Jamaica. Authorities allege the couple orchestrated the burglary to obtain an insurance payout for approximately $450,000 worth of jewelry and designer handbags, claiming some items had actually been returned for refunds.

During the Season 11 premiere of ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’, Wendy Osefo addressed the legal battle and the significant strain the situation has placed on her marriage, describing it as the ‘darkest time’ for the couple. Both Wendy and Eddie have vehemently denied any wrongdoing and are working to clear their names.

Legal proceedings are ongoing, with a joint trial scheduled to begin in January 2027 in Carroll County, Maryland. Wendy’s legal team has filed motions to dismiss the charges, citing alleged defects in the charging documents and challenging the legality of the arrests and evidence collection. The couple has since moved forward with separate legal teams.
