Wendy Rodríguez Zamarripa resigns as Cecytez Estación San José director

Wendy Rodríguez Zamarripa has announced her resignation as director of the Cecytez Estación San José campus in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, following intense protests from students and parents.

The conflict involved conflicting allegations. Students and parents accused the director of mistreatment, discrimination, and conditioning student attendance on parental presence at meetings. In response, Rodríguez Zamarripa denied these claims and alleged that she and her family had received death threats and threats of disappearance. She also raised concerns regarding the use and sale of illicit substances among some students.

Oscar Ortiz Fuentes, the general director of Cecytez Zacatecas, attempted to mediate the situation, but was also met with criticism from those present. Rodríguez Zamarripa stated she intends to exercise her right to legal defense and will pursue legal action regarding the threats made against her.
