Weng Chien-yu prepares for 60th anniversary concert in Taipei

Singer Weng Chien-yu is entering the final rehearsal stage for her 60th anniversary concert, titled ‘Time of Song’, which is scheduled to take place at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC) on August 29 and 30.

Weng has implemented a strict preparation regimen, including dietary restrictions—avoiding fried and spicy foods in favor of melons—and daily Pilates sessions to maintain the stamina required for the performances.

The concert features a lineup of guests, including Golden Melody Award winner Hung Pei-yu for the first day and Bai Bingbing for the second day. During rehearsals, Weng and Bai performed the classic song ‘Jia Hou’. Weng also teased a potential surprise from her fellow cast members of the film ‘Sunshine Women’s Choir’.

Following the Taipei shows, the concert series will move to National Chung Hsing University’s Huixin Hall on November 28.
