Wensambulance Hardenberg grants volunteer Manja's last wish in Overijssel

Manja, a volunteer who had served for more than eleven years at Dierenopvang Koningen animal shelter in Balkbrug, wanted to say a final goodbye to her colleagues, the dogs and the blind dog Sua that she cared for. On 27 July, the charitable organization Wensambulance Hardenberg e.o. arranged for her to be transported to the shelter, allowing her to meet the staff and animals one last time. The farewell was described as warm, loving and dignified, with staff and volunteers expressing gratitude for her long‑term dedication.

Wensambulance Hardenberg, which operates with over 100 professional volunteers seven days a week, assists seriously ill residents of Overijssel in fulfilling their last wishes. The organisation highlighted the emotional value such moments hold for both the wish‑grantor and the surrounding community.
