Germany reports multiple violent clashes involving football fans and police

Multiple incidents of violence involving football fans and police have been reported in Germany.

In Aachen, tensions escalated during a derby between Alemannia Aachen and Fortuna Düsseldorf. An unannounced fan march led to clashes with law enforcement, resulting in seven criminal complaints. Reports indicate that officers were struck in the head, spat upon, and targeted with bottles. Charges filed include assault, robbery, and sexual harassment.

In Kiel, police intervened during a planned attack by approximately 40 Holstein Kiel supporters against VfL Osnabrück fans during a registered fan walk. Authorities used physical force and pepper spray to prevent a larger confrontation. As a result, 37 individuals were taken into police custody for involvement in a breach of the peace.
