Werder Bremen goalkeeper Karl Hein succeeds Mio Backhaus

Werder Bremen has successfully transitioned its goalkeeper position following the departure of Mio Backhaus to SC Freiburg. Karl Hein has emerged as a capable successor, stabilizing the position.

Club officials attribute this seamless transition to the work of goalkeeper coach Christian “Kiki” Vander. Peter Niemeyer, Head of Professional Football at Werder, noted that Vander’s ability to develop keepers and manage departures has made the goalkeeper position one of the club's most stable areas.
