Werder Bremen signs Youri Regeer on loan from Ajax

Werder Bremen has completed the loan signing of 23-year-old Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Youri Regeer for the remainder of the season. The deal includes a €5 million purchase option. Werder Bremen will cover the player's full salary, while the loan fee is reported to be €200,000.

Regeer was brought in to bolster the midfield following a significant thigh injury to teammate Jens Stage. Head coach Daniel Thioune and head of professional football Peter Niemeyer praised Regeer's versatility and tactical awareness, noting his ability to play in central midfield and as a right-back.

In a separate transfer move, Werder Bremen also secured the loan of 24-year-old Senegalese defender Moussa Ndiaye from RSC Anderlecht for the 2026/27 campaign. The deal includes an option to purchase and provides depth for both left-back and central defensive positions.
