Werder Bremen stadium repairs cut tickets and spur new upgrades

A partial collapse of a tribune in the Weserstadion has left block 53 out of service, reducing the number of tickets available for Werder Bremen's first two home matches. Stadium manager Hans‑Jörg Otto said the damaged area will remain closed for the season opener and the second home game, with a full reopening expected by the third match in mid‑October.

At the same time, the club has completed a €10 million upgrade of the facilities on place 11, adding new player cabins, modernised hospitality areas and flood‑resistant infrastructure. President Hubertus Hess‑Grunewald and managing director Tarek Brauer highlighted the project’s sustainability features and its role in ending a long‑standing problem with mold‑affected locker rooms.
