WERise Network urges women entrepreneurs to scale businesses

At the 2026 WERise Network Annual General Meeting and Regional Fora in Accra, CEO Eunice Dewi Adjei urged women entrepreneurs to focus on scaling operations, increasing revenue, and creating jobs rather than merely maintaining business survival. The network, which connects over 25,000 women across Ghana’s 16 regions, aims to transition women-owned businesses from growth to expansion.

Key achievements reported include reaching 7,959 women and young people in 12 regions during 2025 and supporting the formalization of 3,632 women-owned businesses. The Yenze Ghana Mall, a platform for these entrepreneurs, recorded vendor sales of GH¢2.15 million in 2026, more than doubling the previous year's figures. The mall currently hosts over 300 active vendors.

To prepare for larger markets, entrepreneurs were advised to strengthen business systems, including financial management, digitalization, and branding. The Ghana Enterprises Agency reaffirmed its commitment to providing training, advisory services, and market linkages to support women-owned enterprises.
