Werkman Stadslyceum ends Prague school trip early due to rule violations

The Werkman Stadslyceum, a secondary school in Groningen, has cut short a school trip to Prague for its 5-vwo students. The decision was made after 72 out of 150 students violated established rules.

According to a spokesperson for the educational group O2G2, students were provided with an information booklet containing specific rules, including a midnight curfew and a prohibition on alcohol consumption. Nearly half of the group failed to adhere to these agreements.

While the trip was originally scheduled to last from Sunday morning until Thursday evening, the entire group is now being sent home early via bus on Thursday morning. The school administration noted that while this decision unfairly penalizes students who followed the rules, the measure is necessary to send a clear signal regarding the importance of trust and accountability within the school community. No major incidents were reported resulting from the students' behavior.
