Werne to install heat-resistant artificial turf without rubber granulate

The city of Werne plans to install a new artificial turf pitch at the Lindert facility without the use of rubber granulate. This decision aims to prevent heat-related damage, a problem that has affected infill materials in the surrounding region.

According to trainer Pascal Harder, the current pitch at Lindert did not face issues during the 2026 season, allowing Werner SC to avoid rescheduling matches. The new installation is intended to be even more resilient to high temperatures.
