Werne traffic accident leaves four people injured

A serious traffic accident occurred on Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Herberner Straße and Im Hanloh in the Horst district of Werne, Germany. The incident, triggered by an eCall emergency alert, involved a heavily deformed passenger car that came to rest in an adjacent field and a van that overturned in a ditch.

Four individuals were injured and transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Emergency responders included 15 members of the Werne Volunteer Fire Department, three ambulances, two emergency doctors, a rescue helicopter, and police.

Firefighters secured the scene against fire hazards and contained leaking fluids. The Lower Water Authority of the Unna district was called to monitor the affected soil. Herberner Straße was fully closed during the operation, which concluded around 3:00 PM.
