Wernigerode to host 14th annual chocolART chocolate festival

The 14th edition of chocolART, Germany’s largest chocolate festival, is scheduled to take place in Wernigerode from October 28 to November 1, 2026. The event will feature more than 50 chocolatiers, confectioners, and vendors presenting various products, including truffles, pralines, chocolate liqueurs, and chocolate beer in the town's old town.

Programming includes cocoa painting, chocolate design workshops, and special chocolate menus in local restaurants. On October 31, a ‘chocoHALLOWEEN’ event for children will feature themed treats and the pouring of Wernigerode’s largest chocolate bar. The festival also highlights the town's 170-year history of chocolate production, which is closely linked to the Argenta brand and the Wergona chocolate factory.

As a designated Fairtrade town, the festival will include a Fairtrade Day organized by the Fairtrade Town Initiative and the Eine Welt Netzwerk Sachsen to promote fair wages for cocoa farmers and the prevention of child labor.
