Wero instant payment usage quadruples in 18 months

The European instant payment solution Wero has seen its usage quadruple in an eighteen-month period. According to Stephen Kim, an associate director at the consulting firm mc2i, the platform's success is driven by both its practical utility and its European origin.

While American companies like Visa and MasterCard remain dominant in physical card usage, Kim notes that consumers show higher scrutiny regarding digital banking data. The European identity of Wero provides a sense of security for users who may be hesitant to entrust digital wallets and sensitive financial information to major American technology firms like Google or Apple.
