WeSec security summit launches in Milan to address cyber threats
The new WeSec security salon will be held on 22–23 September 2026 at the Allianz MiCo in Milan. Organized by the Italian Banking Association (ABI) and ABIServizi, the two‑day event will bring together banks, financial institutions, public authorities, regulators, industry leaders, researchers and technology companies to discuss the growing importance of cybersecurity for the stability of the economy. Topics will include cyber‑risk management, protection of critical infrastructure, data security, digital payment safety, European technology sovereignty and the impact of artificial intelligence on security.
At the same time, Italian businesses, especially SMEs, are urged to adopt comprehensive cybersecurity strategies beyond basic antivirus and firewalls. Experts advise firms to assess real risks, prioritize protections, and work with external partners capable of delivering continuous monitoring, vulnerability testing and staff training, thereby reducing interruptions, fraud exposure and reputational damage.
