Wesley Hunt nominated as U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

President Donald Trump has nominated U.S. Representative Wesley Hunt (R-Texas) to serve as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The announcement was made via a notification sent to the U.S. Senate.

Hunt, a Republican from Texas and a West Point graduate, has expressed his acceptance of the nomination on social media. He noted his previous experience in the region as both an Army officer in combat and as a diplomatic liaison for two years. Hunt stated his intention to advance a vision of peace through strength and to deepen the strategic partnership between the United States and Saudi Arabia.
