West African authorities dismantle QNET-linked fraud and trafficking networks

Law enforcement agencies in West Africa have conducted significant operations targeting fraudulent recruitment and human trafficking networks operating under the QNET name.

In Benin, the Republican Police reported that 24 operations conducted since April 2026 led to the arrest of 92 suspects. These individuals were referred to the Court for the Repression of Economic Crimes and Terrorism (CRIET). Authorities stated the networks targeted young people seeking employment or opportunities to work abroad. The operations, coordinated with Interpol, also involved activities in a neighboring English-speaking country where three sites were dismantled and five high-level members were arrested.

In Ghana, the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) conducted an operation on July 21, 2026, resulting in the arrest and rescue of 44 foreign nationals. The group included individuals from Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, and Nigeria. Following the operation, 33 Burkinabe nationals were repatriated to Burkina Faso via the Paga Border Post in August 2026. QNET stated it is cooperating with law enforcement to disrupt criminal networks that misuse its brand for deceptive employment and travel schemes.
