West African districts honor top students in school excellence ceremonies

In the sub‑prefecture of Ondéfidouo, Côte d’Ivoire, the 40 best pupils were recognized on 1 August 2026. Each received a school kit, and the top BEPC and CEPE winners also received cash awards. The ceremony was led by sub‑prefect Assiénin Koffi Honoré and attended by DRENAET secretary Zon Basile‑Cédric, who praised the initiative as a model for local development.

In Senegal’s Diourbel region, 145 students were celebrated on 30 July 2026 at the Bambey stadium during a Day of Excellence organized by the Education and Training Inspection. Minister Dr Alioune Dione spoke, stressing education’s central role in building a stronger, inclusive economy and linking student achievement to the social‑solidarity sector. He urged the laureates to turn their academic success into entrepreneurship and community development.
