West African nations launch new education and housing infrastructure projects
Burkina Faso Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo inaugurated the Faso-Kéoogo school complex in Bonheur-Ville, Ouagadougou. Part of the Presidential Initiative for Quality Education for All (IPEQ), the facility was built at a cost of over one billion CFA francs. The R+3 building includes 16 classrooms and accessible sanitary facilities, serving 1,453 students for the 2026-2027 school year.
In Côte d’Ivoire, Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé launched a project to construct 420 social and economic housing units in Yamoussoukro. Located in the Morofé Residential district, the 13.5 billion CFA franc project is funded in partnership with the West African Development Bank (BOAD). This initiative is part of a larger 145 billion CFA franc agreement aimed at constructing 4,300 homes across Abidjan, Bouaké, and Yamoussoukro to address the national housing deficit.
