West African road accidents cause fatalities and injuries

A series of road accidents in West Africa has resulted in fatalities and injuries. In northern Côte d’Ivoire, a public transport bus veered off the road on the Niakaramandougou-Tafiré axis. The accident, which involved 42 passengers, left five people dead—including two adolescents—and nine others seriously injured. The victims were transported to the Niakaramandougou general hospital.

In Burkina Faso, a Farafina Tour bus traveling from Dédougou to Djibasso crashed into a ditch on National Road 14 near the Kié hill descent. The driver reportedly lost control while attempting to avoid carts on the road, potentially due to a brake failure. While no fatalities were reported in this incident, two people sustained minor injuries.
