West Bandung Regency Launches Water Supply and Anti‑Corruption Initiatives

Facing an extended dry season linked to El Niño, West Bandung Regency (Kabupaten Bandung Barat) is accelerating water provision. Bupati Jeje Ritchie Ismail said 48 new boreholes and drinking‑water management systems are being installed across vulnerable villages. The local disaster agency (BPBD) has deployed three tanker trucks, two housing‑department units and one fire‑brigade unit, and opened an emergency water‑distribution service reachable via a WhatsApp call‑center.

At the same time, the regency has created the Satgas Bandung Barat Berbenah, a task force that includes Polres Cimahi, the district prosecutor’s office and the internal inspection bureau. Jeje warned that officials found selling or buying positions will be removed, urging the public to report any such misconduct. The task force aims to ensure transparent, corruption‑free rotations, mutasi and promotions within the civil service.
