West Bengal CM announces land allocation for 33 industries

West Bengal Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari has announced plans to host a ‘business conclave’ to promote industrialization and self-reliance in the state. During a recent media event, the Chief Minister stated that the government intends to allocate land to 33 industrial enterprises during the upcoming event.

Key industrial developments highlighted include the inauguration of a Larsen & Toubro (L&T) data center in New Town’s Silicon Valley and a planned 6,000-crore rupee project in the Haldia area scheduled for October 14. The Chief Minister emphasized a commitment to a ‘business-friendly’ environment, specifically noting the resolution of land disputes that had previously stalled metro construction projects in Chingrighata and the Barahanagar–Barrackpore section.

To ensure a clean investment climate, BJP leadership, including State President Samik Bhattacharya, has issued warnings against extortion and corruption, stating that any party members involved in harassing businesses will be expelled. The government aims to shift the state's economic focus from welfare dependency toward industrial growth through new industrial and land policies.
