West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari Announces Smart School Upgrades and Police Force Revamp

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said his administration will roll out smart classrooms, video‑based learning and modern infrastructure across state‑run schools, citing alignment with the National Education Policy 2020. More than 1,200 government and aided schools will receive digital learning aids, while higher secondary curricula will include artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science. The state will establish Atal Tinkering Laboratories in 1,000 science‑stream schools and expand PM SHRI schools, with educational content delivered via the Paschim Banga Siksha Portal and the PM eVIDYA channel.

Adhikari also announced an ambition to build the country’s finest police force despite budget constraints. Speaking at the annual Bada Khana event at the Swami Vivekananda State Police Academy, he praised officers for maintaining law and order and pledged full government support, stating, "I know you have to work under many challenges… I have full faith that you can achieve it." The ceremony included a Guard of Honour and recognition of recent police graduates.
