West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari praises police after large illegal arms cache seized

West Bengal's Special Task Force (STF) conducted raids in Kumrakhali, Basanti and Sandeshkhali on June 6, recovering a massive cache of firearms and ammunition that authorities said was intended to disrupt peace. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari praised the operation, stating that "peace, safety and democracy will prevail" and condemning the previous regime's alleged stockpiling of illegal weapons.

In a related development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested former MLA Saokot Molla, identified as the prime suspect in the Bhangar bomb‑blast case, along with another accused, Sainur Molla, who had transported the blast victims. The arrests are part of a broader inquiry into the incident that killed a bomb maker and injured several others.

Both actions are presented as steps toward eliminating criminal activity and political terrorism in the state.
