West Bengal government to pay October salaries and pensions in advance

The West Bengal government will release October salaries and pensions in advance on October 15, ahead of the Durga Puja festive season. This early disbursement includes the enhanced dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR).

According to a notification from the State Finance Department, the payment schedule applies to state government employees, grant-in-aid sectors, contractual employees, and pensioners. The enhanced DA, which was previously notified to take effect from October 1, 2026, will be included in these payments.

To ensure smooth processing, officials have been instructed to submit bills and documents to the treasury ahead of schedule. This special advance payment arrangement is specifically designated for the month of October 2026.
