West Bengal leaders exchange Mahalaya greetings amid political criticism

Political leaders in India have marked the occasion of Mahalaya with various greetings. Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) shared messages on social media, emphasizing the festival as a symbol of the victory of good over evil and a time for unity and new resolutions.

In contrast, BJP leader and former national vice president Dilip Ghosh criticized Mamata Banerjee, alleging that she has lost relevance in West Bengal following recent by-election results where AITC factions received less than three percent of the vote. Ghosh suggested her recent visit to Delhi is an attempt to maintain political visibility and accused the movement she supports in Delhi of being backed by foreign funding.
