West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh: Social media fuels Jaish‑e‑Mohammed network
West Bengal minister Dilip Ghosh said that the spread of social media and the internet has made it easier to create terrorist networks. He referred to recent arrests by the state’s Special Task Force of suspects linked to the Pakistan‑based group Jaish‑e‑Mohammed, noting that police identified the suspects through digital monitoring.
Ghosh added that the investigation has uncovered possible connections to Dubai and Pakistan, and that a deeper probe will reveal the full extent of the network. In the same statements he addressed other state issues, including the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act, the issuance of citizenship certificates, and the commencement of the census, while criticizing opposition leaders and alleging foreign funding of protests.
