West Bengal police officer injured in bomb attack during gambling den raid
An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) was seriously injured during a police raid on an illegal gambling den in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. The incident occurred late Sunday night when a team led by ASI Sadiq Ali from the Salar police station was attacked with crude bombs by suspected miscreants upon spotting the officers.
Several other officers sustained minor injuries in the attack. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the explosions. Additional police forces and the Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed to Kharera village to maintain law and order as tension remains high in the area.
While no arrests have been made, several suspects have been detained for questioning. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify the attackers and determine if an organized gang was responsible for the assault.
