West Bengal TMC officials face raids and praise amid corruption investigations

Suspended Trinamool Congress spokesperson Riju Dutta praised West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, saying the government is working at "100 kilometres per hour" and that industry and investment are returning to the state. Dutta highlighted ongoing development projects such as railway station clean‑ups and work on Ganga ghats, urging patience for the new administration's initiatives.

At the same time, the Enforcement Directorate conducted simultaneous raids on seven locations linked to TMC MLA and former minister Madan Mitra. The agency alleges the politician facilitated illegal municipal recruitments, with more than 125 appointments secured through cash and gold payments. The raids are part of a broader probe into municipal job scams that also involved other agencies, including the CBI. Investigators are examining seized documents, digital devices and other evidence as the case develops.
