West Bengal to Gain from India's Nine New Free Trade Agreements

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said West Bengal will benefit significantly from the nine free trade agreements (FTAs) concluded under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The agreements are expected to provide enhanced market access for tea growers, fisherfolk, traditional handicraft artisans, as well as the state's youth and women, driving higher production, boosting exports and creating sustainable livelihoods. India’s FTAs, covering 38 developed economies, aim to expand market access, attract investment and strengthen the country’s role in global value chains, supporting sectors across the nation and especially the state of West Bengal.
