West Bromwich Albion signs midfielder Kayden Lucas

West Bromwich Albion has announced the signing of 18-year-old midfielder Kayden Lucas on a free transfer. The Bristol-born player, who holds both English and Ghanaian nationality, joins the club’s Under-21 squad to compete in Premier League 2.

Lucas arrives from Newcastle United, where he previously spent two years in their youth setup. He has signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2027, with an option for an additional year in the club’s favor. Standing at 1.92m, the left-footed midfielder is described as a player who aims to dictate play and drive through lines.

Academy Manager Richard Stevens noted that Lucas performed well during a trial period and brings a unique physical presence to the current squad. Lucas expressed his desire to use the opportunity to continue his professional progression at The Hawthorns.
